Spring 2019 High Point Market

I am so fortunate to have spent the last week at High Point Furniture Market, where twice a year (every October and April), all of the design community – vendors and manufactures – get together to showcase the upcoming trends. As a designer, market is the perfect time for me to look, feel, test, discover and learn the newest product trends. I am excited to share my favorite finds with you and share insight on how I’ll be incorporating these trends into upcoming projects over the next year.

Gold Is Back – while this is something we have seen before, I am intrigued by the new ways manufacturers are bringing brushed gold accents into pieces. Gold really has the power to make an impact in a room with minimal effort. Touches of gold here and there will dress up your space and create a “wow” factor.

Warm Wood Tone Furniture – I do love a lacquered or painted piece of furniture, but there is something classic and timeless about a natural wood finish. Through incorporating wood toned furniture, you are able to crate warmth and texture in the space as well as a natural element.

Florals – for the past several years neutral fabrics have taken a forefront in design and I am glad to see florals making a comeback. If you are hesitant to incorporate florals into your home, you can do so in small touches such as drapery fabric, bedding, or even wall art to offset and create a contrast against neutrals.

Green – this is one of the hottest colors trends that is still going strong. I saw this introduced back in the fall and the idea of bringing the outside in is still just as prevalent. From green textiles and furniture to live greenery, I am a firm believer that every space needs just a touch of greenery.
